Between the 1st and 2nd World Wars there already existed a hotel "Zum Lindenhof" on part of the sight upon which the "Hotel Residence" now stands. The hotel "Zum Lindenhof", which was completely destroyed by a flying bomb in the final year of the war, was a hotel run by Friedrich Stattner (1851 – 1917) and his family, whose granddaughter, Helene, married Dr. Phil. nat. Bruno Holzmann who kindly presented us with a photo and resumé of the history of the hotel "Zum Lindenhof".

The Hotel Residence in Hanau was completed in Autumn 2005 after several years of construction.
